CIRCULAR NO. 2
November 24, 2007
This is to inform you that the plans for the All India Convention on Suppression of Democratic Rights in Chhattisgarh to be held from 8th to 10th of December, 2007 are progressing, and the response is quite encouraging.
We would, once again, like to request your presence and participation that would strengthen the movement in defence of democracy in Chhattisgarh.
It is not mere coincidence that the forthcoming INTERNATIONAL HUMAN RIGHTS DAY on 10th December, 2007 is to be observed to DEFEND THE DEFENDERS OF HUMAN RIGHTS. As we know that our own General Secretary, Dr. Binayak Sen continues to languish in Jail, what with the judicial process taking its own sweet time, and the un-ethical delay tactics adopted by the State Government.
Anyway, this appears to be the right occasion for us to express solidarity and put up a united front in raising our voices honestly against the violation of human rights in Chhattisgarh. Now is the time to share our resources and make it meaningful and effective in our joint struggles for defending democracy.
As you may note that the scheduling provides ample space and opportunity for all delegates to participate. Thus, please come prepared to share in the presentations and discussions. Please also bring enough documents, reports, posters, films, etc. There will be a special place for display.
